Wednesday

Wednesday was full of adventure. However, it started off with reading at the hostel patio, listening to calming music.

I went on a kayaking tour which explored the coastline and the caves along the way:

The wind was strong so it was an easy paddle on the way down the coast, but it made for a frigid ride back being pulled by the boat.

In the evening I went with a few friends to a highly recommended Italian restaurant (I did wince a bit at the fact that we weren’t consuming traditional Portuguese food). However, it was delicious! We had enormous plates of homemade pasta that lasted for next-day leftovers. They were of course accompanied by Aperol Spritzes and wine.

Thursday

I must admit that I have become tired of eating out and sitting down for a formal-ish breakfast. So, on Thursday I purchased a nectarine (they are amazing here!) and a Portuguese pastry with a coconut topping. The cat at the hostel did attempt to eat my breakfast, but I was still able to enjoy it.

I had also decided that Thursday would be my day of relaxation. I had a massage that evening and I went to a gentle flow yoga class - it was one of the best classes I have ever attended. The instructor had the poses in a perfect order that helped improve balance and relieve stress. They were so kind to me there.

Time for the beach again! I picked up a foccacia sandwich on the way and I was very excited to have the bread and fillings in hand as you can tell:

My new Hungarian friends and I at the beach:

Friday

What a sad day! Lagos brought me so much relaxation and I felt so at home at the hostel. I took some final pictures in town and went on my way to Lisbon!

¡Hasta luego! - Ellie
